"Do not go gentle into that good night, Old age should burn and rave at close of day; Rage, Rage, against the dying of the light. Though wise men at their end know dark is right, Because their words had forked no lightning they Do not go gentle into that good night"
The Lowdown
Cassia lives in the Society where the officials decide who you love, where you work, and when you die and she has never doubted their choices. Cassia has finally turned 17 and is called to the Match Banquet, the moment she's always dreamed of, where she will meet her Match. When the Matching screen shows her best friend, Xander, she's overjoyed, until the screen flashes to another boy's face and turns off. . .
Ky, the boy that does his best to blend in the background, the boy she met so long ago, the boy who isn't like anyone else in the Society. Now she has a choice to make, Xander or Ky, but it's never that simple, not in the Society that makes your choices for you. How far would you go for love?
This book is told from Cassia's point of view, first person.
The Feels
I actually really liked this book. It made me think. A society completely controlled by a council. No individuality. Needing to be useful to the community. I liked the concepts and the characters, especially Grandpa! If you want to find out what I mean, go check out the book.
If you enjoyed this one, check out the next one.
